Carolina School of Bodywork

Coming to North Charleston 2022!

Carolina School of Bodywork brings passion back to the bodywork classroom. Educated and dedicated instructors tailor lessons to meet industry standards and light the fire for creativity in hands-on techniques. Charleston has not had a locally-owned bodywork school for quite some time and we're ready to bring that back!

About the Program:

650 clock hours of study including Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology, Massage Theory, Ethics and Professionalism, Pathologies, Benefits and Physiological effects and Massage techiques to include basic swedish and advanced neuromuscular skills. The student will attend an on-site practical internship to gain on-the-job experience and practice technical skills to perfect their craft. The program will exceed SC Labor Licensing and Regulation standards and will seek VA approval.

Successful completion of the program will allow graduates to sit for their Massage/Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx) administered by the Federation of State Massage Theray Bodards (FSMTB). The MBLEx is accepted by South Carolina and most states that have regulations regarding Massage/Bodywork.

Classes will be 10 months long and will be offered in day and evening sessions. Exact start dates will be listed soon.

Dana Ball, Director

Dana is a Charleston native and has been a bodyworker since 2008. She has taught and run several entry-level programs and wanted to bring the best to the bodywork classroom. In order to do that, she decided to open a school.

Her passion is to create a space that is 100% dedicated to putting students first and ensuring their success in a growing field. Carolina School of Bodywork will employ talented and evidence-informed instructors that are passionate about their craft. We will guarantee gainful employment and will provide continuing education workshops regularly.

Dana wants to help as many people as possible live better, pain-free lives.
